Kenya is a magical country and there are few places in the world that offer such a wide variety of landscapes so rich in diversity, it would be impossible to visit Kenya without at least considering a visit to the legendary wild life reserves.
Nestled amongst Tamarind trees in the vast savannah of Tsavo East are two amazing tented safari camps that we highly recommend. Tsavo East is a 3 hour drive from Mombasa where you reach the game reserve gates, and are then transferred onto "traditionally safari" 4x4 Landrovers or Landcruisers driven by safari guides who live in Tsavo, to begin your game drive. En route to the Camp you are driven through the park following in the tracks of herds of Zebra, Giraffe, Elephant, all roaming the vast expanses of Tsavo.
The tented camp is built around a waterhole - you can view gazelle nibbling on the lawns from your veranda, or watch the elephants come in to drink, you can feel totally close to nature All the tents are equipped with comfortable beds, electricity, and in true safari style hot water is delivered to you tent! Dinner is served in the main camp restaurant and coffee and brandy is served around the camp fire, watching the stars come out in a black velvet sky listening to the sounds of animals calling in the night is a truly magical experience.
