Kitesurfing
Kitesurfing or kiteboarding has started to grip the world and is
considered one of the fastest growing extreme water sports today.
Prosurf extreme is among the first to bring a Kitesurfing school to
the beautiful shores of Kenya, and is perfectly located by being on
the whitest, widest stretch of beach on the North Coast … still
close to all the action in Mombasa, with easy access to the Safari
circuit.
Our centre has been designed to provide both for learners and
experienced kiteboarders who want to drop by and use our facility… The dominate wind direction is
Cross shore making both learning
and riding easier and safe. See our weather page for more info…
Our instruction is by an IKO/BKSA instructor based at the Centre
everyday…

The IKO is the International Kitesurfing Organization, its sole
mission is to develop and promote the safe practice of kiteboarding
by enhancing high standards and creating interaction between all
parties involved in the development of the sport.

The BKSA is the British Kite Surfing
Association and their aim helps to set safety standards and develop a governing body to represent kite
surfers and the changing expansions with in the sport.
Equipment
The dominate equipment used at the Prosurf school are the Wipika
Kites and Boards helping to maximize the learning experience but still
maintaining the intense power of the kite.
Learning with us….
Media exposure shows the massive jump, tweaked air and radical
grinds, but remember everyone has to start somewhere! Nyali Beach has an idyllic playground for teaching. At low tide the
water shallows to around waist deep and less, allowing students to
stay on their feet while learning the basic flying skills and
allowing a smooth progression to the exhilarating body dragging and
board launches.
